In plain language: You can play on one device without creating an account. If you sign in, we use your email address to authenticate you and sync eligible game progress. The current app and website are free and ad-free. No subscription is required. Account access and score synchronization remain available.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Neuriosity Brain Training mobile and web apps, the Neuriosity website at neuriosity.net, and related services that link to this policy (together, the “Services”).
Neuriosity’s games are for entertainment and general cognitive activity. They are not medical care and do not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Email and account information. When you request an unlock code or sign in, we process your email address and authentication information.
- Newsletter choices. If you choose to join the Neuriosity mailing list, we record your consent and email address.
- Messages to us. If you contact support, we receive the information included in your message.
Game and progress information
We may process game names, scores, personal bests, result details, and timestamps. Signed-in users can have eligible progress stored in the cloud so it can be available across devices.
Information stored on your device
The app or website may use browser or app storage for your unlock status, email address, sign-in session, best scores, recent result history, and a temporary sync queue. Guests’ game information generally remains on the device they use.
Technical information
We and our service providers may automatically receive limited technical information needed to operate and secure the Services, such as IP address, browser or device type, request time, referring page, error details, and server logs.
Advertising in this version
The current ad-free Android release does not include the Google Mobile Ads SDK or show advertisements. Earlier app versions may have different advertising behavior.
3. How we use information
- Provide unlock codes, authentication, and account access.
- Save and synchronize game scores and progress.
- Operate, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Services.
- Send newsletters and product updates when you have chosen to receive them.
- Respond to questions, privacy requests, and account-deletion requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect users, Neuriosity, and others.
Website advertising
The current website and hosted browser app do not load AdSense or display advertising placements. Links to other websites remain subject to those sites’ own privacy practices.
5. How long we keep information
We keep account and cloud progress information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the Services. Newsletter information is kept until you unsubscribe or request removal. Device-only information remains until you clear it, remove the app, or clear the browser’s site data.
We may retain limited records for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or to honor an unsubscribe request. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
6. Your choices and controls
- Email: Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Device data: Use “Clear data on this device” in Settings, or clear the browser’s stored data for Neuriosity.
- Account and cloud data: Follow the current instructions on our Delete Account page.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Use our Contact Us page to ask a question or submit a privacy request.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service or storage method can guarantee absolute security, so please protect access to your email account and device.
8. Children’s privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. International processing
Neuriosity and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. We use providers and safeguards appropriate to the services they perform.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Services change. We will post the revised version here and change the “last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when appropriate.
